Mother

For those of us who have lost our mom, Mother's Day can be very difficult. Whatever the circumstances of the loss, there is deep sadness and pain. We may not be able to celebrate this special day with as much joy as those who are blessed with the presence of their mother. Some of us have lost our mothers to time and age, others to tragedy or illness. Yet for many of us our love for the woman who brought us into the world is still very strong. We hold her in a place of high honor in our hearts, cherishing the memories we have like priceless treasures.

Some of us have no memory of our mothers. It's even more difficult to fully appreciate her, even if another woman has taken her place. The void is like an open pit into which nothing can fill it.

But on this day, we can still celebrate the legacy of these amazing women. We do our best live our lives in ways that would make our moms proud. For those of us who live this day in her absence, she still lives on in our hearts.
